It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I had my baby. She’s beautiful, of course. Born 5/25/10; 8lbs, 4oz; 21″. At her four week checkup (a week and a half ago) she was up to 9lbs, 3oz. I only have two and a half weeks left to my maternity leave, which sucks.
Now the moping will commence, so you might want to stop reading here.
I have not done much knitting at all in the last two months. In fact, until about a week ago, I could have honestly said that I hadn’t done any knitting in the last two months. With one thing and another, I just haven’t felt like it.
Right now, I’m trying to finish up the few projects I have on the needles (the super secret dice bag, which I guess makes it a little less super secret; the socks for Grace; and the baby’s blanket). Then I have to decide if I’m going to make the Shetland Shorty with long sleeves for which I already have the yarn. Then I have to decide if I’m going to keep knitting at all.
Like I said, I just haven’t felt like it.
I did finish the pattern for the dress/finished the dress for Little Cat Z, and I’ve decided it needs too much work to make it something I can publish. It wasn’t a complete waste of time, because Thing One and Little Cat Z got dresses they seem to like out of it, but that’s as far as it’s going.
I’m not sure about the dice bag. I don’t know how my test knitter is doing with it, but there are some things I’m really not happy with about it, too, and I don’t know if they’re terminally bad, or if it can be salvaged.
I do think it will be a very, very long time (possibly never) before I try to design anything again, at least for public consumption.
If I quit knitting completely, I have to decide what to do with all my stuff. I don’t have a lot, but I’ve got a paper box full of books and a fair number of needles.
I think that’s enough mope-age for now.
